Aliens: Fireteam Elite is the updated version of the popular multiplayer game Aliens vs. Predator, or AVP for short. I thought it would be fun to show our community our thoughts on the upcoming mod, which is set to be released sometime in March here on Xbox One. Well, much to our surprise, within two days of announcing our thoughts, someone made a much more eloquent summary of our thoughts over on Reddit, which was posted in r/xboxone troopers.
Im a huge fan of the alien horde mode of the alien fireteam, and i recently stumbled across a new way to gain some of the rewards of the mode. Instead of grinding for the same old xp and cash rewards, what if you could actually do something fun with them?
Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a cooperative first-person shooter that pits a group of six elite troopers against a massive horde of aliens. Each time a team member gets a kill, a life counter is added to a shared kill total. If a member of the group falls, a new player from the queue replaces them. While the concept of a cooperative shooter might not sound too exciting, the cooperative nature of Fireteam Elite makes it a fun and addictive single player experience, and the inclusion of a horde mode makes the game a cut above an average FPS.
Horde Mode in Aliens: Fireteam Elite is unlocked once you’ve completed all twelve campaign missions. It’s a more static version of the Xenomorph carnage you’re accustomed to, with a focus on area defense and some of its own rewards.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite challenges you with progressively tough waves of Xenomorphs, with the opportunity to withdraw every ten waves. This is also when it distributes its prizes, which may be used to level up your classes, weapons, and other items.
Completing 10 rounds of Aliens: Fireteam Elite’s Horde Mode rewards both gun and character XP, as well as Rep Scrip – which can be used to buy cosmetics – and Requisition Credits, which can be used to buy weapons at the Endeavor’s armory.
Aside from that, we got consumables, bonuses, and emotes. The amount of goods you get grows in proportion to the number of cycles you complete.
Difficulty plays a role in this, with Intense and Insane awarding you with the Horde Slayer weapon skin when you finish Wave 10, which makes your weapons seem like they’ve been dipped in acid.
It’s conceivable that subsequent waves may offer unique rewards for finishing them as well, but we’re currently making our way through their terrible bug packs.
As the game’s post-launch seasons begin, more Aliens: Fireteam Elite Horde Mode prizes may be available. Check out our Hidden Caches and classes guides for additional information about the game.

Some of the top players in the Alien: Fireteam Elite are already using this new version of the game to its fullest potential. With this new feature, it’s easy to see why.
