The AOC C32G2ZE is a 32″ 1080p monitor that is designed for gamers and PC enthusiasts. It comes with a 32″ VA panel, a response time of 4ms, a 20000000:1 contrast ratio and a 1000:1 brightness rating. The VA panel provides a wide viewing angle of 178-degrees and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. In addition to this, the monitor also comes with in-built speakers, VGA, HDMI, and DisplayPort connections, and a tilt/swivel stand.

Today we’re going to take a look at one of the best gaming monitors around, the AOC C32G2ZE. This is a 32-inch 4K monitor with a super-wide aspect ratio of 21:9. You can think of this as a large and high resolution version of the popular Samsung S32F390. Despite its high resolution and circular design, it’s still aimed at noobies and casual gamers.

The AOC C32G2ZE is a 32 inch (32:9) curved gaming monitor with a resolute 2560 x 1440 resolution, HDR support and a 144Hz refresh rate. In addition, it is a rather premium monitor that will undoubtedly impress casual and hardcore gamers alike.

AOC is known for producing high-quality gaming monitors. Now they’ve released a new range of G Line 2nd Gen monitors that will keep the competitors guessing. These monitors all have a 1080p resolution and top-of-the-line specifications that are optimized for high FPS gaming.

We previously evaluated their new AGM700 Mouse and AGK700 Keyboard and loved both of them, so we were ecstatic when AOC contacted us again and requested us to review one of their new displays in a fair and impartial manner. They gave us the C32G2ZE G Line 2nd Gen 32” so we could give it a hands-on evaluation and tell you if it’s worth adding to your setup!

Unboxing and Construction Quality

Let’s begin with the contents of the package. Instructions, a power cord, a DisplayPort cable, an HDMI cable, and a stand are included with the C32G2ZE G Line 2nd Gen 32″ Gaming Monitor. The arm and the base of the stand are independent pieces, however they may be connected without the need of any tools. On the bottom, there is a screw with a toggle that may be attached with a screwdriver for a more secure connection or simply by turning the toggle by hand.

The monitor is also connected to the stand without the need of any tools. It’s as simple as aligning it with the support prongs and clicking it in place. The stand allows for vertical tilt but does not swivel or change height.

The layout is appealing. It features a black frame with a very tiny bezel (approximately.25”). However, the color palette isn’t completely neutral. Red accents may be seen on the monitor’s bottom and back, as well as around the base of the stand. The monitor seems to be well-made in every way. There were no dead pixels or inconsistent illumination on the unit we got.

Color and Illustration

The color and picture are a little dim and muted with the out-of-the-box settings, but can easily be adjusted using the menu buttons on the bottom of the screen. It comes with several preset “Game Setting” configurations that AOC has deemed best suited to certain game types. There’s FPS, RTS, racing, and several “Gamer” profiles which can be personalized through the G-Menu software. Otherwise, you can simply leave game settings profiles off and personalize your settings on the fly. The G-menu software also has a feature called “Game Synch,” a setting that allows you to assign gamer profiles to individual programs so that they change automatically!

I like a bright screen, and FPS mode is ideal for both gaming and everyday usage since it is bright, vivid, and responsive. There are many HDR settings, but I felt that they all lost a little color purity, so I didn’t use them very often.

Gaming Capabilities

Let’s take a look at the elephant in the room. This display is 1080p, not 1440p or 4k. When selecting a monitor to gaming on, it’s crucial to know what you’ll be using it for. It’s easy to get caught up with resolution, but for FPS gaming, refresh rate and reaction time are much more essential. On slower displays, these games often produce ghosting and motion blur. But you won’t have to worry about that here. Although 32” is a bit large for 1080p, the AOC C32G2ZE’s 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms reaction time make it perfect for fast-paced games with rapid movements, such as racing games and shooters. To be quite honest, these speeds are overkill for most individuals. Only those who have high-end GPUs and are looking for a competitive advantage at the top level will see true benefits.

To test the apparent reaction on this display, I played GTA V and Doom. My GTX 1060 was never able to match the monitor’s amazing frame rate in these games, but I never had any ghosting or motion blur. As far as I could determine, the monitor was in excellent working order.

FTW G Line 2nd Gen!

So, does the C32G2ZE G Line 2nd Gen 32” Gaming Monitor have a chance at reaching our top 1080p gaming displays list? Yes, I believe so! The Scepter C325B-FWD240 was the only monitor I could locate that met its specifications, and Scepter is one of those brands where we’ve found the image and build quality to be inadequate when compared to other brands. AOC has also managed to match Scepter’s pricing, making it the obvious option for anyone looking for a 32″ 240Hz gaming monitor.

Because the decreased resolution is more apparent on bigger displays, High Ground Gaming usually recommends 24” screens for 1080p gaming. This is also true here, however if you truly want a larger screen and love FPS gaming, you’ll have a hard time finding a better monitor than this.

Summary

The AOC C32G2ZE G Line 2nd Gen 32″ Gaming Display is a well-made monitor with excellent picture quality and specifications that are perfect for FPS gaming. It’s inexpensive, works well, and allows for a lot of customisation, but the 1080p resolution isn’t optimal for 32-inch displays.

  • a reasonable price
  • Image quality, brightness, and color
  • Refresh rate and reaction time in the top tier
  • For 1080p, a 32” screen is quite large.
  • Certain aesthetics clash with red accents.
  • HDR has several drawbacks. There is some color accuracy, but it isn’t the finest we’ve seen.
