The day has finally come: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s newest DLC fighter, Kazuya from Street Fighter V, has been released. While he’s not a character that’s well-known among casual fans, he’s certainly a character that a lot of big names in the fighting game community wanted in the game. His inclusion in Ultimate marks the first time Street Fighter V representative characters have been in a mainline Smash Bros game.
After the game’s initial release in December, Sakurai didn’t really do much to promote the game. In a recent Nintendo Direct he brought out Kazuya and Min Min, two characters from another Nindies game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This was a surprise and it changed the way we think about the game.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (featuring characters from the entire Nintendo 64 era, every single mascot of the entire Street Fighter series and every single character that appeared in the first three Smash Bros. games) has been out for a couple of weeks now and it’s a big hit with fans of the series. The game is out, but the fun doesn’t stop there. This week, we learned that the newest addition to the Smash family is none other than Kazuya, son of the series’ beloved main antagonist, and for the first time ever, Nintendo has revealed a full scope of the Amiibo that will coincide with the game, including the the first ever Super Smash Bros. branded Amiibo for a new character.

The Director of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Masahiro Sakurai introduces the latest DLC character Kazuya Mishima from the Tekken fighting game series in the new show Sakurai Presents. The Mishima family’s ice legacy is now under your control, as Kazuya is born on June 29, 2021 and released as a DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Fighters Pass Vol. 2 for $30 or Challenger Pack 10 DLC for $6, which also includes a new stage and a selection of music from the TEKKEN franchise from various decades.

Kazuya Mishima, who made his appearance in the original TEKKEN over 25 years ago, is one of the most recognizable faces in the popular fighting game series. Kazuya goes fromTEKKENarenas, where players must understand the space between characters and focus on where they can hit enemies in three dimensions, toSuper Smash Bros.arenas battlefields. Ultimate, in which players must attack their opponents from two-dimensional heights and distances. Due to this change in game size, Kazuya displays a special ability inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate compared to hisTEKKENroots.
BSuper Smash Bros. UltimateKazui’s basic attacks are similar to his combat moves inTEKKEN, but give him the jumps in the air, crush attacks and special moves that theSuper Smash Bros.series is known for, uses his evil power. The dojo is enclosed on all sides, but the walls and ceiling can be destroyed by powerful attacks, making the stage a dangerous area. Due to the lack of floating platforms, Mishima’s dojo stage is more ground-based than most of the other stages inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, which requires new strategies to combat it.
After downloading Challenger Pack 10, players will also receive 39 songs featuring music from the TEKKEN series, including a mix of songs from earlier and later games in the franchise. Additionally, new paid Mii Fighter costumes such as Shantae, Lloyd Irving, Dante and Dragonborn will be released alongside Kazuya Mishima.
